Description
Sky Ballin’ is the only studio album by Side 2 Syde, a rap group from Oakland, California. The album was released on October 14, 1997, by 383 Records and features collaborations with Richie Rich, Knumskull, G-Stack, Levitti, and others.
The album features 13 tracks, including the lead single “Sky Ballin’,” which features Richie Rich and showcases the group’s smooth West Coast sound. Other highlights include “Constant Struggle,” “Someone Special To You,” and “Can You Stand The Pain.”
Sky Ballin’ was produced by Lev Berlak, J. Moss, and Mike D, and mixed by Berlak and Jason Moss at The Grill in Oakland. The album was mastered by Donnie Bott at Rocket Lab.
Sky Ballin’ received critical acclaim upon its release and helped establish Side 2 Syde as a prominent group in the Bay Area rap scene. Despite the album’s limited commercial success, it has become a cult classic among fans of West Coast hip hop and G-funk.
