Description

“Judgement Day” is the third studio album from Oakland, California rapper Pooh-Man. Released on July 27, 1993, by Righteous Records and Scarface Records, the album delves into the Gangsta Rap genre, showcasing Pooh-Man’s distinctive storytelling and raw, unfiltered lyrics.

The album features 16 tracks, including notable songs like “50-50 Chance,” “Cash-Flo,” “Run Nigga Run,” “Body Bag,” “Cross Roads,” “Menace 2 Society,” and the title track, “Judgement Day.” Pooh-Man collaborated with producers Gino Blackwell, Roddy Bo, Rodney “Blu” Mitchell, and Stan Keith to create an impactful and engaging soundscape for the album.

Lawrence Lee Thomas, born on January 25, 1969, has been an influential figure in the rap industry since the early 1990s. With several albums released across different labels, including Jive Records, Pooh-Man’s lyrics often focus on topics such as sex, money, and murder. His song “Sex, Money & Murder” even appeared on the soundtrack to the 1992 film Juice.

Thomas has been active in the music industry for decades, with his only charting album, 1992’s Funky as I Wanna Be, peaking at #158 on the Billboard Top 200. Unfortunately, his career was interrupted in 2000 when he pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery and was sentenced to six years in prison.
