“Past And Present” is a mixtape by renowned Oakland-based rapper and producer E-A-Ski, released in 2003 under the Infared Music Group label. This mixtape showcases E-A-Ski’s talent both as a rapper and a producer, featuring a blend of hip-hop and gangsta rap styles. The 17-track mixtape is mixed by DJ T-Ski and includes numerous collaborations with well-known artists from the hip-hop scene.
The mixtape features artists such as CPO Boss Hogg, MC Ren, Lil’ Jon, San Quinn, Montell Jordan, Richie Rich, Yukmouth, B-Legit, E-40, Allen Anthony, and Spice 1. E-A-Ski produced the majority of the tracks on the mixtape, except for “Who U Wit,” produced by Lil’ Jon. E-A-Ski’s real name is Shon Adams, and he hails from Oakland, California.
With a rich history in the music industry, E-A-Ski has worked with some of hip-hop’s most accomplished artists, such as Ice-T, Spice-1, Jayo Felony, Too $hort, Ice Cube, Master P, Nate Dogg, WC, and Dr. Dre. He produced several tracks for Spice-1’s Gold-certified albums and contributed to the platinum-certified Luniz album “Operation Stackola.” E-A-Ski’s song “Blast If I Have To” was also featured on the soundtrack for the Ice Cube and Chris Tucker movie “Friday.”
E-A-Ski’s storied career has seen him collaborate with Ice Cube on multiple occasions, including the 2010 track “Pros vs Joes” and the more recent single “Please.” In 2012, E-A-Ski was crowned “Producer of the Decade” at the West Coast Hip-Hop Awards. He continues to work on various projects, including Ice Cube’s 10th solo album “Everything’s Corrupt” and music for billion-dollar social game provider Zynga Inc.
