“Ballad Of A Menace” is a 1990 maxi-single released by the Los Angeles-based rap group CPO (Capital Punishment Organization). The group, originally composed of Vincent Edwards (Lil’ Nation/Boss Hogg), Clarence Lars (DJ Train), Granville Moton (The Chip), and Daron Sapp (Young D), disbanded after their debut album. The maxi-single was released under Capitol Records and features the group’s signature gangsta style.
The vinyl comprises of a “Ballad Side” and a “Menace Side,” with each side offering various versions of two tracks. On the Ballad Side, the title track “Ballad Of A Menace” has a runtime of 4:33 and features compositions by Isaac Hayes, Lil’ Nation, and M.C.
