“Keepin It Real,” an extremely rare maxi-single by Los Angeles-based rapper Mr. Animation, was released in 1997 under Hip Hop Records. Known for his groundbreaking contributions to West Coast street dancing and hip-hop culture, Mr. Animation, born Vincent Foster, brings his unique style to this project. The maxi-single, released in cassette format, features a blend of hip-hop and G-funk styles that showcase Mr. Animation’s undeniable talent.

The project contains four tracks, beginning with “Hip Hop Funk,” a song that highlights Mr. Animation’s passion for the fusion of hip-hop and funk music. The track is followed by an instrumental version, providing listeners with a chance to appreciate the production and groove behind the lyrics.

“Is You Down With Hip Hop” is another standout track that invites listeners to embrace the culture and music that Mr. Animation represents. Once again, an instrumental version follows, allowing fans to focus on the beats and rhythms that contribute to the track’s irresistible energy.

The maxi-single was printed by Disc Makers and released exclusively in South Central L.A., California. Tragically, Mr. Animation passed away in 2016 at the age of 49 in Las Vegas, but his legacy lives on through projects like “Keepin It Real” and his lasting impact on the world of street dancing and hip-hop culture.
