Description

“Knight Time” is a solo studio album by rapper C-Knight, a member of The Dove Shack from Long Beach, California. Released in 2001 under Big Nuts Records, the album features G-Funk style hip-hop and boasts collaborations with artists such as Bad Azz, 2 Scoop, Bad Lucc, Young Shack, K-Dub, and Sweet Sensation.

The album opens with the “Nighttime (Intro)” and quickly transitions to “Baby Curt Knight (That Me),” where C-Knight showcases his signature flow and storytelling. The G-Funk vibe continues with “Servumms,” featuring 2 Scoop, followed by “Boyfriend Girlfriend,” a track that dives into relationship dynamics.

“Bus Stop Pimp (skit)” offers a brief interlude before “Long Line (Whut Do You No A Party),” a party anthem featuring K-Duv. “California Cheese” sees C-Knight team up with Blacc Jac to deliver a smooth ode to the West Coast. The album continues with the uplifting “Have A Good Day” and the introspective “You Really Don’t No,” featuring Bad Lucc.

“My Babies (skit)” serves as another interlude, leading into “Family Matters,” a heartfelt track about the importance of family. “Have Mercy 4 A Gee” follows, as well as “Big Nuts Symphony,” which features 2 Scoop once again. The album delves into a harder edge with “Gangsta Boots” and “Reunited,” before softening with the emotional “No One.”

“Dump Tha Body (skit)” offers one last interlude before the album closes with three final tracks: “Bang That Shit,” featuring Bad Azz, “We Smoke, We Loced, We Broke,” and “Airtight.” The project wraps up with the “Long Beach Nigga’s (Tear It Up)” and the “Outro.”

“Knight Time” demonstrates C-Knight’s versatility as a solo artist, embracing G-Funk and West Coast hip-hop while exploring various themes and collaborating with a diverse group of artists.
