Description

“Wha Cha Need” is a studio EP by Los Angeles-based rapper Young Trey, released on October 31, 2000, under the Mo Money Entertainment label. The EP features an energetic blend of G-Funk and Gangsta hip-hop styles, showcasing Young Trey’s lyrical prowess and versatile flow.

The 8-track EP includes guest appearances by CJ Mac, K-Mac, Ms Sexy, Bink Nitty, Lisa, Sherice Williams, and Cisco, adding depth and variety to the project. Kicking off with the hard-hitting “Hoodsta Fo’ Life,” featuring CJ Mac, K-Mac, and Ms Sexy, the EP delivers an authentic West Coast vibe that fans of the genre will appreciate.

Other standout tracks include “Jackin’ Fo’ Impalas,” “Stuck In Tha Game,” featuring Sherice Williams, and the titular track “Wha Cha’ Need.” The EP also features two skits, “I Should Have Park It” and “True To The Game,” adding a touch of humor and authenticity to the project. The EP closes with the radio edit of “Hoodsta Fo’ Life.”

“Wha Cha Need” was recorded at Front Page Studios and pressed by Rainbo Records. The EP’s production was helmed by Young Trey, with additional production on “Stuck In Tha Game” by Hoodstas “N” Crime Productions. The project was executive produced by Don Bink-Nitty Nelson, Mo Harris, and Robert Warren.

The EP’s artwork was designed by Keif Savage Designs and Roque Graphics, while the photography was handled by Mr. Sammy Green Sr. The tracks on “Wha Cha Need” were taken from the forthcoming album “Absolute Power,” building anticipation for Young Trey’s next release.
