Collaborating with artists such as JT The Bigga Figga, Sneak, Big Mack, Seagram, and Rappin 4-Tay, the album showcases Pooh-Man’s storytelling abilities and hard-hitting lyrics. Born Lawrence Lee Thomas on January 25, 1969, Pooh-Man, also known as MC Pooh and MC Pooh-Man, has been active in the music industry since the early 1990s. He has released several albums on various labels, including Jive Records, and has made a name for himself with his provocative lyrics focusing on sex, money, and murder. Pooh-Man also had a small role in the film “Menace II Society,” playing the character Doc.

His most successful album, “Funky as I Wanna Be,” released in 1992, featured guest appearances by MC Breed, Too Short, and Ant Banks, and peaked at #158 on the Billboard Top 200. In 2000, Pooh-Man faced legal troubles and was sentenced to 6 years in prison for bank robbery. “The State V.S. Poohman” represents his resilience and determination to continue making music despite the challenges he faced.
