The album features an array of notable guest appearances from artists such as MC Breed, Ant Banks, and Too $hort, adding depth and variety to Pooh-Man’s signature gangsta rap style.

The album consists of 13 tracks, including standouts like “Niggas Ain’t Playin’,” “Don’t Cost A Dime” featuring MC Breed, “Funky As I Wanna Be,” “Mellow Man,” “The Projects,” “Player Haters,” “Racia” featuring Ant Banks and Too $hort, “Fuckin’ Wit Dank,” “The Big Gangster,” “Your Dick,” “Eatin’ Pussy,” “Mellow Man (Instrumental),” and “Sex, Money And Murder.”

Pooh-Man, born Lawrence Lee Thomas on January 25, 1969, is an American rap artist who has released several albums across various labels, including Jive Records. His lyrics often focus on topics such as sex, money, and murder, with the song “Sex, Money & Murder” notably appearing on the soundtrack to the 1992 film Juice. Pooh-Man also played a small role in the film Menace II Society as Doc.

“Funky As I Wanna Be” is Pooh-Man’s only charting album, peaking at #158 on the Billboard Top 200 and gaining notoriety for its risqué cover. However, in 2000, Thomas pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery and was sentenced to six years in prison, temporarily halting his music career.
