“The Harvest” is the debut studio album by Oakland, California rap group Closed Caption, released in 1995 by Ice Chamber Records. The album showcases the group’s G-Funk and hip-hop style, with an authentic Oakland sound that distinguishes them from their contemporaries.

The 14-track album opens with “Bad Newz,” setting the stage for an engaging listening experience. Featuring EROS on “I Know The Game,” the album includes a mix of tracks that highlight the group’s lyricism, creativity, and unique style. Notable songs include “Young Mixdown,” “No Days For Broke Days (Remix),” “The Harvest,” “Talking Murder,” “Dishing Out Bluez,” and “Fiendish.”

The album was produced, recorded, and mixed at The Ice Chamber by DJ Stevie K., who also provided scratches and served as an executive producer. Stevie K. contributed music to tracks 1 to 7 and 9 to 14, while Bad Newz Brown, J. Rich, and Yvette Pylant contributed lyrics. The album was published by Stevie K. Music Publishing and pressed by Rainbo Records.
